at least for me. i’ve been looking forward to a couple days off for weeks. michael is going to bike week on friday to watch the motocross races. he’ll be riding this:
and i’ll be holding my breath. i always plan something with the girls on the night of bike week, but i end up worrying most of the time until he’s home safe and sound. no good reason i suppose. but i just hate waiting to hear the rumble of the motorcycle in the garage. then i’m good for another year.
this year, jake and i plan to have an especially good time. i’ll be doing spring (and summer, fall and winter) cleaning, then i’ll pick jake up from school. from there, we’re getting our blood drawn. seriously. after that, i plan to do something fun with the poor kid, who is terrified of “getting his blood taken out.”
so here’s to friday on wednesday.

these were taken just before sunset at a little seaside park just a mile or so from our property. sometimes we have to remind ourselves why we live here, and a little walk to the beach to explore gives some serenity now. there’s a new boardwalk that hugs the water’s edge. you can see the gulf peeking through the trees. at the end of the boardwalk is a little beach area to explore.
