Monday Mixtape: Forging Ahead

kb blueI’ve said so many times that one of the best parts of starting this blog is the incredible people I’ve have the opportunity to meet. You must say hello to Kathleen, author of Forging Ahead. Ready to be impressed? She’s a triathlete. Yep. She swims, bikes and runs in quick succession. That blows my mind. And you know what else? She’s an expert with horses and dressage. For some extra eye candy, her husband’s stunning photography decorates her blog. I asked Kathleen to share some music to keep me motivated while I work out. Wait until you hear this mixtape. She knows how to rock too!

Aw shucks Myra, I’m blushin’!

Thanks for the kind words…tho I have to stop myself from saying “I’m not a *real* triathlete.” I guess it’s all relative :-)

Thanks for letting me share in the bliss that is your lovely blog.

Are you kidding? You. are. a. finisher!!! Congratulations! You always get to own that. I need your help to keep me motivated. Your mixtape is just what the doctor ordered. :)

[...] Myra at We Make Three! was kind enough to invite me to contribute to her fabulous Monday Mixtape series. [...]

Oh Myra - great choice! I love Kathleen! I can’t see the music list for some reason… I pop by later to see if there’s a glitch :)

I am listening to the mix right now and I am totally digging it. I really enjoy these mixes. Thanks for posting them! :)

Isn’t that Nina Simmone song in the movie, “The Thomas Crown Affair”? I just watched it on TV a few weeks ago. Its such a good movie. (for the record, I prefer the TV version.)

Good good stuff Myra/Kathleen! Found you through Kathleen…and since I’m a spin instructor and music lover myself, I always love seeing good workout mixes that I hadn’t though of. I’ve been trying to post my spin class mixes every week but doesn’t always happen…but this playback list thing is COOL! I’ve been having to find YouTube videos so people could ‘play’ the songs to hear if they wanted. I’ll have to check this out.

Hooray for blog exchanges and learning new things! :)

Hooray for new running/workout music! I’m going to visit Sarah’s blog too for those lists she mentioned. I’m always on the lookout for new music to run to.
Also, tip for all: Amazon.com has free songs for download available every day! I have found several that I run to now, for free! (Plus some other great tunes that just make me happy, by artists I’ve never heard of before.) It’s my new addiction: checking amazon for the freebie tunes.

Hooray for Talking Heads!!

While I give mad props to the playlist, I must say, no running playlist is complete without Rihanna. See my recent blog for further explanation & keep up the great mixtapes!
